GOVision Global Challenge

GOVision organized a case competition to challenge students in envisioning solutions to a real-life technological problem in China. The top 3 winning teams were sent to Waterloo to compete with nation-wide students for a prize-pool of 3000$.

GOVision had the honour to invite the VP and GM at Huawei Canada, the president of Aliment ULTIMA Foods, and a McGill Professor that specializes in Management in Asia to talk about their past experiences and their current dealings with Asian Businesses. The students were encouraged to speak to these established figures over a casual and intimate dinner.

Microsoft Case Competition
October 14th, 2018
Attendance: 40+
40 bright and curious students joined sponsors Microsoft and Bell for an intense morning of the case competition, followed by an afternoon of networking. Spanning all specializations from mechanical engineering to finance and accounting, students were eager to pitch their ideas on the expansion of a ridesharing company in Asia, while learning from prominent figures in the industry represented by companies such as Uber and Ford.
Digital Innovation & AI Ethics in Asia

After a long day of classes, students were able to enjoy a catered networking event with representatives from some major players in the Artificial Intelligence space. Representatives from Deloitte Omnia Al and Stradigi Al discussed some of the biggest issues companies, especially in Asia, currently face in the technological arms race.

Students joined experienced judges including professors and industry professionals to problem solve a unique business case written by the University of Singapore. After the event, students were encouraged to network with the judges and their peers.
